Fox Metro Water Reclamation District

Billing / Customer Relations Department

Customer Relations DepartmentThe Fox Metro Customer Relations Department is responsible for mailing bills to and receiving payment from approximately 75,000 customers. These customers are located in Aurora, Montgomery, Oswego, North Aurora, Sugar Grove and a small section of Batavia, Illinois. Customers are billed for wastewater treatment approximately 6 times per year, depending upon which community they are located in.

Wastewater treatment bills are calculated using water meter readings provided by the community in which the customer is located. The current "User Fee" is $3.27 per one-thousand gallons of drinking water used. Fox Metro realizes that all of the drinking water used by a customer does not always end up in the sanitary sewer. Two significant examples include water used for watering new sod and water used in lawn sprinkling systems. Fox Metro is willing to issue credit(s) in each of these cases if the following procedures are used:

Sod Watering Credit

Fox Metro is willing to issue a one-time "sod watering credit" to those customers with new homes where sod has been laid. To obtain a sod watering credit, a customer needs to contact the Customer Relations Department after receiving the bill that covers the service period in which the watering occurred. A customer can receive only one sod watering credit.

Sprinkling System Credit

Fox Metro is willing to issue a "sprinkling system credit" to those customers having lawn sprinkling systems. To obtain a sprinkling system credit, a customer must purchase a secondary water meter and install it on a water line supplying only the sprinkling system. The customer must then notify the Customer Relations Department that the secondary meter has been installed. The customer must then provide the Customer Relations Department with a reading from the secondary water meter once each year near the end of summer or the start of fall.
